OCTOBER 2008
They were told they would NEVER walk! |
"Wait a second! Are you trying to tell me that I could walk?!"
If you walked with me through the orphanages this month, that's what you'd be hearing!
And what would you say? :) |
What a Thrill!

I have often said, "I must be the luckiest guy in this whole crazy world!" Then my dear friend, Dorothy Pitts, would always smile at me and say, "Ed, you're not lucky, you're BLESSED."
Well, then I must be the blessedest guy in this whole crazy world! :)
I'm the one who gets to tell the children that someone, on the other side of the world, who never even met you, is sending you some HOPE!
Then they ask, "Why would someone want to do that for me?" Oooo - that's a GREAT question! :)

TWO AMAZING MIRACLES!!!
|
This is one of the cutest little guys you'll ever meet! His name is Vova and a year ago he couldn't walk without some support and a lot of pain. Now, after a life changing operation, he's walking (in my apartment with my rabbit :) with a BIG smile on his face!
This is even more of a miracle when you consider that Vova's father died when he was very small and just a couple years ago his mother hung herself ... and left a son behind who couldn't walk.
BUT NOW ... one girl (who goes to school with Vova) recently came home and told her Mom (who attends the church in Krivoy Rog , Ukraine) about a boy at her school who has changed SO much! She said, "He used to be afraid and seemed nervous but now he's walking and smiling a lot!" Then she asked, "Is that our church that did that for him?"
Now this would be one of the happiest little guys you'll ever meet! His name is Sasha and before I left for Canada in September, just after his operation, he could not walk on his own ... Note: before his operation he could only crawl!
The orphanage director was so excited when she told me how Sasha recently stormed into her office and screamed, "I walked all the way here on my own!!!" She said, "Ed, I usually am not happy about kids coming into my office and screaming, but this was a real miracle. We are watching God's hand touching these children." |
| A couple "special" requests . . . |
Irina is one of the "angels" who volunteers to help care for the children who have operations.
She takes the children to and from the hospital, buys them medicine, helps with their therapy ... all for $100 per month.
Recently I found out that the toilet in her apartment doesn't work. I'd usually do something but I thought, you know, this is the kind of thing someone else would love to be "blessed" by. Two hundred dollars would completely fix it. Anything on top of that would completely bless her socks off! :)
Here's some more of our "angels"! The one who's always in the middle of our gang of helpers (with the brown coat) is "Irina" too.
I found out that her son (11 years old) is now playing trombone in a local orchestra and he loves it! :) I also found out that some of the other people there joke about his "old, cheap" instrument ... I ALSO found out that a new one would cost about $220 (that would be a month's salary for them!) So, I thought, let's just do it again! |

My DEAR friends, thank you, SO much, for treating us like ROYALTY when were in Canada -
AND for continuing to believe in MIRACLES with me!
