EDVENTURES! April 2005
Special Kyrgyzstan Edition - The Pink
and Yellow Revolution
 |
The Kyrgyz revolution started off on the right foot.
The people had seen peaceful revolutions in Georgia
and Ukraine and believed that, now, it was their turn to
see positive changes without force.
The picture on the left was taken prior to the riots.
A young lady was placing flowers in the police shields (as
they did in Georgia and Ukraine) in HOPE that some
significant political and economic changes would come without
violence.
|
 |
As you know, her hope was short-lived. Riots broke out
around the country and although the riots have now stopped,
the political unrest has not. Poverty and mafia-style corruption
are at all time highs ... and growing! |
THIS IS A HUGE OPPORTUNITY!
Now is the time we need to show the people of Kyrgyzstan
that Christians around the world are praying for them ... and
jumping at the chance to show them the genuine LOVE
of God.
|
One of the heroines in the battle for the heart
of Kyrgyzstan is a beautiful lady named Lena. Lena has
been helping us to serve the forgotten widows in her country for
over three years.
Once I asked Lena how she found the seniors in need, and she
replied, "I just walk down the road and pray, and I ask
God to guide my steps to those in the greatest need, and He always
does! He does MIRACLES!"

Lena Vidyaeva - Caring for the Forgotten |
Last year, together with Lena, we were able to follow
the Lord's leading into the lives of over 300 seniors! In
March, Lena sent me this picture and letter ...

Maria in Tokmok, Kyrgyzstan |
Hello Ed!
This is a picture of Maria. She's 55 years old.
She doesn't have a home and right now she's living under an abandoned
building. She's lived there all winter. Her husband died,
their house burned, and then her daughter left her alone.
She doesn't have any documents (birth certificate, passport,
etc) and no clothing (other than what she had on when I met her).
She eats what she can find on the street and in trash bins.
She can't work because her hands are in such pain. I met
her on the street one day and the first thing I did was to buy
her something good to eat. We meet now once a week and
this week I was able to buy her some good clothes. She
was thanking God that He sent us to her.
|
That's just one example of what I'm doing every day these
days. The people desperately need our help
because they have no one else. If we could buy a small
house to use for the widows, it would be a Maria in
Tokmok, Kyrgyzstan miracle. They could come to us, get
warmed up, washed up, clean clothes, a nice meal and of course,
hear about a God who loves them. I'm praying for that now,
and not just me, many people are praying with me. I
believe God will answer our prayers very soon.
With love, Lena
Hey my dear friend! You can change the life of a senior
in Kyrgyzstan for only $20 per month! ... we could
buy a house for Lena's ministry to the widows for under
$5,000! ... you could hop on a plane and hug Maria yourself!
Oh yeah!!!
Can you please help? Just imagine the day,
when you are in heaven, and someone just like Maria is running
around, with a spring in her step, looking for the soul who gave
happily to change her life!
Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much for believing in miracles, with
me!
With love IN Jesus' mighty name,
Ed Dickson
