Gettin' Crazy in Western China

We have been working in Kyrgyzstan for a while
now. I used to look at the faded, snow-peaked
mountains on the horizon and think, "That's western
China over there. Hmm, I wonder if there's some crazy people pushin' the
LOVE OF GOD over there eh?"
So, I contacted some big missions organizations, but
wasn't able to find any that were working in that
area.
I went into western China in 2001, just knowing that we
might be the crazy ones that God wants to use there. |

this month. Bill is saying, "Let's go
for it!" (as all missions-minded pastors do! :)
Then, just when I was least expecting it, something,
well, VERY unexpected happened!
We were taken one day, by a local *Chinese* missionary,
into an industrial area, inside a sort of factory,
then into a small room ... and, there they were! FIFTY on-fire,
young, "crazy for the love of God", Chinese-speakin'
disciples! |

Oh my, could it get any wilder than that?! Well, it
could and it did! We started to make plans to open a new
humanitarian organization right there in western China and train
Chinese students (in Kyrgyzstan!) to help orphans and widows!

More Miracles in the Gaza Strip
Last year my lovely wife and I made our first trip into the Gaza
Strip. We felt God's direct leading and I was so shocked by my
wife's courage. What a GIFT FROM GOD she
is! Straight from heaven! :)

After we left Gaza last year, we were watching CNN and saw
that the Erez crossing, right where we had stood on the Gaza
side, had been blown to smitherines. Here Natasha is shown,
last week, sitting in a makeshift guard's hut on that
very spot! |
Through my dear friend, Glen Pitts, we made contact with
the Palestinian Bible Society and get this now ... I
mean, like, really, GET THIS NOW ...
We found a super church, filled with Arab Christians,
right in the Gaza Strip! They even asked me to preach the
next time I come! Ok, they are a bit crazy too :)
Now, come on, I thought they just killed you there if they knew
you were a Christian. Didn't you? Quite the contrary!
I really feel that God is opening our eyes to something
very new!
The Palestinian Bible Society has some amazing ideas to
help the poor in the Gaza Strip. They are looking for Christians
who have a vision to change that small, yet very strategic, part
of the world. Can you please help us to change Gaza
with God's love?
From Our Partner in Afghanistan
I just received an AMAZING report from our partner, in Afghanistan.
He writes ...
"Hello Ed! How are you, how is your family? Everything
is ok here. We had a big miracle, I want to tell you about
it.
| We were at our church praying at 5am. Six men carrying
machine guns and knives came in and held the knives to our
throats. I thought it was time to die for Jesus and I was
praying, "Lord, if they kill us, FORGIVE them, I just
want them to believe in you." |

I wasn't afraid because the presence of God was so strong.
I felt God telling me, "It's not time to die, you will be
safe, just go outside and start to shout."
The men held me down on the floor and tried to bind my hands.
Suddenly there was a loud noise and I tried quickly to get
out through the door, but I couldn't because there were two men
with machine guns standing there. Then I got to a window,
jumped out, and started to SHOUT. Somehow God blinded their
eyes and they ended up shooting each other, instead of us, killing
one of them, and running away in the commotion. They left
a bag behind, with a videocamera, tape, rope and an "Al
Qaeda" flag.

Our friend, the Chief of Police caught them. They are from
Pakistan. They heard that there were missionaries
in our region, and that all the people in our region were
becoming Christians. They were sent to take us as hostages
and decapitate us. But God is really ALIVE, praise Him!
Since this happened, everyone in our city says to us,
"God is with you" and that God embarrased the
terrorists. As Pastor Sunday says, "You won't die
until you fulfill your calling". Dear Ed, please pray
for us and our mission. |
Hey my dear friends! The projects we are involved in
are bearing GREAT fruit for God's Kingdom! Many new doors are
opening, and miracles are becoming a way of life! Can you please
help? We can do so much more together!
