EDVENTURES! November 2004
Hello my friends! This is the way I see
things ...

We
have been blessed by God. And I believe
we
all need to stop and start lookin' down.
That's
right! Everyone is telling us to keep
lookin'
up and pushing on - but let's break the
trend!
Let's stop and start looking down!
And
when we REACH DOWN to the orphans
and widows
in need - we will find that those
things that usually
keep us up at night (when
we are
comparing ourselves to those who have
more than
us) really aren't all that important!
A New Car for a Family of 138!
Here's
some of the excited kids from
the orphanage
in Krivoy Rog, Ukraine,
saying,
THANKS! for the new car!

The
proceeds of our 2004 Swing for
Orphans Golf
Tournament this year made
this possible. Yep,
a brand spankin' new
"Lada
Stationwagon". And they were
VERY
thankful! : )
The
orphanage has been in operation for
ten years
and they've NEVER had a car to
deliver important
things for the kids ... or
to deliver the
kids to important things!
I guess
if I had 138 kids ... and no car ...
I'd
be happy to have a new Lada too : )
Someone Just Decided to Stop!
I
remember once when I was little, mowing the
lawn - and just feeling a bit down. I was day-
dreaming about what it would be like if some
rich
man, driving by in his nice car, just stopped,
for
no apparent reason, and decided to make
my
day!

Little
Edik (pictured with me) lived on the streets
not
long ago and, for no apparent reason, a group
of Canadians (rich in his eyes) JUST STOPPED by
to make
his year! Maybe even his life!
Just this last week, at a special ceremony for a
couple
of Canadians who had come to visit Edik
and
his friends, one of these tough, street boys
broke into tears, hiding his face, as he told the men what
it meant to him (that they came). Oh what a
moment in our time.
The building behind Edik was an old crumbling building ... now
it's the cool new workshop! Sponsored
by some Canadians who decided to stop : )
To Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan
You know, I
really am the lucky one. I'm on my
way to Kyrgyzstan
and Uzbekistan tomorrow to
just stop
by on some of the unsuspecting orphans
and seniors
we are LIFTING UP.
Thank
you for stopping with me. : )
With love IN Jesus' mighty name,
